All are welcome to this free public observing session in Lancaster's Williamson Park on the evening of 24th February 2023. If the weather is clear we'll have fine views of the moon, star clusters, nebulae and maybe a galaxy or two through LaMAS member's telescopes. We'll also have a set of talks throughout the evening on Astronomy and Space in the Park Cafe. If the clouds roll in, we'll still run the talks.
We look forward to seeing there.
LAMAS Sun Gazing Event
LAMAS will be putting on a SunGazing event at the Sun Dial in Williamson Park on Sunday the 21st August 2022 from 10:00 onward.
Come and see our local star like never before!

Welcome to the Lancaster and Morecambe Astronomical Society LaMAS.
We are a friendly group of local amateur astronomers in the Lancaster and Morecambe area. Beginner or expert, amateur or professional, young or old, anyone interested in astronomy is welcome to our society.
Try us out
We meet every month from September through to June. You do not have to be a member to attend a meeting, they are all open to the public. Just come along, pay £1.50 to cover society expenses, and become a member for the night. Or save a bit of money and pay £10 for annual membership (which runs from January to January) and attend all the meetings for free. For under 18s it is even better, everything is free!
What we do
In addition to regular meetings, we also have observing sessions, occasional social get togethers with other local astronomy groups, and we try to organise at least one big public event during the year.
